Transcription Price Per Word
We charge by the word spoken, which is calculated on an output basis and not time. This means that even if we have to re-listen to parts of the recording because the quality is poor, or there is ‘dead time’ (i.e. reading of paperwork etc), we do not pass that time onto the client. We estimate generally that 1 hour of digital audio time is approximately 9,000 – 10,000 words. This is quite similar to the ‘folio’ method of billing for transcription work, used by legal professionals across the world for the transcription of court proceedings.
Please note, there is no extra charge for multiple speakers or focus groups. Our prices only vary for police station interviews under caution and video subtitling.
We handle orders of any size and can cope with multiple files. We are a team of experienced transcribers who have worked together for many years, which means you will have a steady stream of work emailed back to you as soon as files are completed.
