Self-employed transcriber with over 30 years’ experience.

I am from Manchester and have been a transcriber since 1992 when I received a Prince’s Trust grant to set up my own business. 

Unique Information: I am a 7th degree black belt in Kickboxing and a Senior Instructor with NWCKB where I manage the women’s club in Manchester.

Specialist Transcription Skills: Initially working in the commercial property and planning sector, then branching out into academia and media.  I now have a very varied transcribing portfolio including the property work I started out with to media, academic research, politics, disciplinary and court hearings, health and medical research; and helping out the odd comedian typing up their ‘work in progress’ shows (that’s what you get from sitting on the front row at comedy gigs!).

Favourite Project: I undertook an oral history project over a few years relating to the whisky industry in Scotland.  I loved transcribing the stories from people aged 90 to 20; such an amazing and enjoyable project to work on.
