After a successful career working with adults with learning disabilities in both day care and residential settings, I went to university as a mature student, studied for a degree and subsequently spent 10 years as an academic researcher in various Scottish universities.  This role not only involved data collection by conducting qualitative interviews (both one-to-one and focus group) but also included the transcription and analysis of those interviews.  I have also co-authored several academic publications on a variety of subjects. After a move to the northeast of Scotland I started transcribing for The Typing Works in 2007 and have been happily transcribing a diverse range of interviews since then.

I now live in Glasgow, my home city, with my husband and our beloved bouncy Labrador, Frankie.
