Tracey Charlesworth
Specialist Transcriber with over 19 years' experience.
About me:
“I grew up in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and will always be a proud Yorkshire lass! Whilst in high school I always knew I wanted to become a secretary, so I attended Wakefield College to complete a secretarial studies course. I loved the course and that set my career trajectory. I started as an office junior for an insurance brokers, and worked my way through various firms, and worked my way up to office manager. In 2004 we moved to Northumberland for a change of pace.”
Something Unique?
“I’m not sure it’s a unique skill, but I love crafting and being creative, whether it be knitting, sewing, drawing. I’ve always got several projects on the go at one time, and I’m lost without it. I’ve come to realise, I need something to do with my hands, they need to be kept busy, whether it in work, or in hobbies!”
What qualifications do you have?
NVQ Secretarial (Administration) Level 2 – Distinction

What transcription work are you most proud of?
“The piece of transcription work I’m most proud of is a life story file that was over 40 hours in length. It was fascinating, hearing someone tell their life story, and having the privilege of transcribing it. Saying that, I love all transcription projects I take on, whether they be one-to-one files, through to large focus groups, PACE verbatim files, or straight dictation, I get such enjoyment from it all.”
How long have you been transcribing for?
19 years.
