About Me: Born and based in Oxfordshire, I’ve spent many years at the keyboard in a variety of secretarial and admin roles.

I recently joined The Typing Works and am thoroughly enjoying the experience. So far, I have mainly transcribed healthcare files, which I find both fascinating and informative.

After studying French and a bilingual secretarial course, my career began with short stints in Paris and Lyon, where I put my love of shorthand and typing to good use before returning home to the UK. I then spent 14 years working in the science industry, progressing from typist to secretary.

During a short role in the London media industry, I had an exciting opportunity to try subtitling for television programmes — an experience I still wish I had gone on to pursue.

Over the years, I’ve also worked in admin roles in schools, and have greatly enjoyed adding the education sector to my work life experience.

Outside of work, I am known for spotting spelling and grammar mistakes wherever I go — from restaurant signage to professional websites! I love keeping up to date with my knowledge of French and Italian, shopping with my daughter, car boot sales, and quiz nights.

I live in Oxfordshire with my daughter and feisty cat, Merlin.
